Rosalie Arlene

She was born yesterday, 5 weeks 3 days early. She was 6 pounds, 4 ounces and 19 1/4 inches long. She'll be in the NICU for a few weeks, at least, until she learns to suck/swallow and breath and her jaundice clears up.

Congratulations!!
Isn't 6 pounds is pretty good sized for 35 weeks?
Best wishes to you and your new little one. I hope her stay in the hospital is a short one. I love her name!

She is a good size, but still very tired and not able to nurse or bottle feed yet. She now has a feeding tube, to go along with the IV and the lights for jaundice. She's lost 9 ounces since she was born. Hopefully, once my milk comes in, she will be able to take that through her feeding tube with the added calorie formula.

Congratulations!!! I also love her name. Babies can tend to be pretty sleepy and not so gung-ho to eat even when they are term...so I'm sure she'll come around. My sister's last baby was born at 35 weeks, 6 lbs something, and now she is almost 16 and she is brilliant and beautiful. Anyways, congratulations....and I will be praying for her, that she can come home soon....

I was going to brag about my youngest, Audrey Irene, but I see Della beat me to it! (she was 6lbs, 9oz, and lost quite a bit, too!) The hardest part for me was going home without her.. she had to be monitored because she'd stop breathing, and her heart would slow down to nothing. We were shocked, because when we heard how much she weighed, we thought she'd be leaving with me. But like Della said, you'd never know it now by looking at her!
By the way, I love her name, it's so feminine!! You are very fortunate, of course you know that.. a new baby!! I'm praying that all will go well. God Bless You!
