My online "friends" know

Is it really bad that I haven't told my family about #10 yet? My dad was so negative about number 9, with my c-section and disability before his birth due to me messed up back. The house was trashed when he came to visit us before #9 was born. I just don't want to deal with him right now. Maybe after my next dr visit and ultrasound?

Nope. Sadly i think it's probably "normal" in big families like ours. I know I dreaded telling my inlaws when we found out we were pregnant with the twins. I held off until i was 16 weeks along and even then, my fil was very rude & very negative.
So sorry you have that to "look forward to". UGH

I've never understood his attitude. My parents had 7 kids and adopted 3 more. They have customer of 3 of my adopted sisters 4 kids, ages 6, 4 and 18 mo. We support our own kids and take care of them. What is his problem?

Too bad my Grandma is not still alive. She thought it was wonderful when I married a Catholic man and converted to Roman Catholic. She would give them hell for me! You didn't mess with her, as she had the Irish temper and red hair of her immigrant grandparents. My mom was raised in the church, baptized me and my 2 sisters and then left the church to become an Episcopalian.

You have to do what is best for YOU and your family. Not the extended family. Not the friends. Not the rest of the world.

I, personally, am honored that you chose to share your good news here first and wish you all the luck in the world.

Thanks, Damama_t. The next visit should be fun. The dr I detest will see me then. She is a specialist for high risk pregnancies and treats me like I have something wrong with me for liking children and following my Roman Catholic religion. Like my hubby says, I don't have to like her, as long as she can do her job.

I hope you won't get too much trouble from family members. I know some people thought we were crazy for having 7 kids. but it was the right decision for us, which is all that matters. They aren't taking care of them, we don't ask them to help us unless they offer and we are very happy.

I hope you don't let this tress you out too much. :(
